Over the last decades, Mozambique has been widely publicized for some of the largest natural resources discoveries in the continent and most recently for its economic challenges and unrest caused by conflicts in the north of the country.

Nevertheless, the country plays an important role in the Southern Africa Power Pool and has been experiencing great interest in the energy sector driven mostly by the prospects of renewable projects.
