Mozambique and Zambia are planning a series of meetings to deepen cooperation, especially in the areas of agriculture and energy, Rádio Moçambique reports.

President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi said that the meetings should take place as soon as possible, given the mutual interests of the two countries.

Filipe Nyusi was speaking to Mozambican journalists outside the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, the venue that hosted the inauguration of the new president of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, elected in the ballot of August 12.

Hichilema was elected with more than 2,800,000 votes, defeating 16 candidates, including Edgar Lungo, who stepped down this Tuesday.
