Lat Saturday - 16/4/22 - was due to be our "quiet day" over Easter. It was a day without commitments, and the sun was shining.
What was there to stop me knocking out a few more miles on the Tandridge Border Path? Quite a bit actually.
I wanted to park in Edenbridge, get a bus or taxi to Limpsfield Chart, but the former only run Monday to Friday, and none of the three can firms could help.
Eventually I parked close to where the official route cuts across Kent Hatch Road, and started walking about an hour later than planned.
It was hot, but absolutely delightful. In fact I was largely on what (for me) was uncharted territory, so each twist and turn threw up fresh bird song, and new vistas.
At now the bluebells are really blooming. Not far from here I saw just one of the several Goldcrests that were calling.
I particularly enjoyed the section dropping down, and running close to Trevereux Manor. The main house was fab, but I think one of the smaller places opposite would "do" me.
A short distance further on I entered a field which had been ploughed up very close to the edge, and here I heard and saw a beautiful female Blackcap.
The weather was on my side, and I was loving it. A little further on I came close to a pond and Moat Farm, which I recognised from a "Bacon walk" a while back.
Hopefully I'll share that picture in my next post.
