Poland was given an ultimatum, make your next payment under the contract in rubles, or the gas goes off. Poland put on their big boy hat and said "NO, I WON'T, WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT YOU, GERMANY WILL SAVE US, NOW WHAT" and Russia pressed the off switch.
Hungary, Slovakia & Austria appear to be heeding their incompetency and have agreed to make their next payment in rubles for their gas. Reports are also saying that several other EU states are considering doing the same. Good to see that some EU leaders still have an ounce of logical thinking capabilities left.
I don't believe in gloating, but I was absolutely right 3 weeks ago when I said that Russia would start shutting off the gas to unfriendly states one by one. A number of typical Western Quorans said I was lying and accused me of being a Russian stooge. That aged like a fine cheese. Poland & Bulgaria down, who's next?
