Rwanda has expressed an interest in using the Port of Nacala, in Nampula province, to facilitate the flow of the various goods it imports and exports.
The High Commissioner of Mozambique in Rwanda, Amade Miquidade, said that the use of the Port of Nacala would be an asset to the country.
"Considering Rwanda already uses Tanzania and Kenya as ports of departure and entry for its goods, why not add Mozambique to its import-export alternatives? I hope this projection becomes a reality, because it would increase the capacity of the Port of Nacala to serve the hinterland countries," Radio Mozambique quotes Miquidade as saying.
High Commissioner Miquidade noted that the development was originally scheduled for July of this year, but for various reasons has been postponed to October.
