Angola Airlines TAAG announced last week, in Luanda, the resumption of flights to Havana, the Cuban capital, as of November this year, ANGOP has learnt from a statement issued by the company.

The company adds that the resumption of flights to Havana follows the positive assessment it conducted towards the business case of intercontinental routes (Americas and Europe).

TAAG explained that the Luanda/Havana route had been discontinued during the pandemic period, however conditions have been created for its resumption, whose flights connect two countries that share strong historical ties.

The flights will also resume the entry into Angolan territory of the corporate segment (Cuban doctors and teachers) and tourism trips and the quest for education and healthcare travels to Havana.

It adds that as of November 8, flights will resume, with departures from Luanda/Havana operated by Boeing 777-300 aircraft, with fortnightly frequencies in November, weekly frequencies in December and fortnightly frequencies in February 2023.

Flights will be leaving Luanda every Tuesday.

In addition to resuming flights to Havana, TAAG also plans to increase frequencies to Madrid (Spain), with an additional flight (weekly) to meet the increasing levels of demand and occupancy rate of the aircraft.

Angola Airlines was founded in 1938 and is based in Luanda, the capital city. For over 80 years TAAG has been connecting Angolans through domestic and international connections.
