I've been creating content daily for over 2.5 years, which has changed my life. I cannot remember a time when I woke up and didn't write something.
Creating something every day expands your mind into realms you could not have imagined. Your brain wants to create; the universe designed it to create.
Modern education slowly drains creativity from our bodies. The teachers give us assignments, and we do the work. They alone possess the correct answers, so we must perform the task their way.
Another way to interact with the world. But, there are plenty of ways to solve a problem outside the teachers' methods. Once we begin using our creative brain, there truly is a never-ending list of solutions.
We are creative as children because we have the time and freedom to let our minds explore. They haven't yet placed the programming inside our minds.
To get back to our creative conquest, we must do something different every day and document it. That's right; a life worth living is worth recording.
Sharing your content. Sharing your creative works is the part that prevents most people from getting started. However, do not overthink this little fork in the road.
You do not have to share your content with the world. Heck, you do not have to let anyone on Earth know about your creative journey. Do you remember the days of keeping a daily journal?
Documenting your journey is an essential element of your personal growth. I can go back and look at my first blog post on July 9th, 2020.
Try to write your name in a different font every morning. Eventually, you will run out of fonts on your word-processing application.
You then have to search for new fonts and ways to import them into your application. You will have to read books and search the internet for new fonts to keep your mission going.
That's the magic of compounding working within your brain. Compounding is the most powerful force in the world, which you can leverage daily.
As I write, edit, design, and publish daily, I get new ideas for covers, articles, and business tactics. I continue to refill my creativity well with books, articles, magazines, and conversations.
The six types of creativity. I like to categorize creative pursuits into six categories. You can create anything using these methods to document your journey.
For example, you can tend your garden every day and document it with pictures, videos, or blogging. Or you can host a podcast talking about your garden. Here are my six categories.
Creativity in Music: creating, editing, surprising, learning, or practicing music.
Creativity in Art & Design: learning, teaching, growing, practicing, selling, collecting art and design.
Creating in Video: teaching, sampling, editing, mixing, producing, helping, journaling with video.
Creativity in Audio & Speech: reading, recording, sampling, podcasting, interviewing, narrating with audio & speech.
Creating in Writing: bogging, authoring, learning, teaching, recording, journaling, with writing.
Benefits of creating content daily. Now you know how to create daily, but why should you? Creating and learning are what our brains want to achieve.
We were always supposed to continue learning outside of the classroom. In fact, the classroom was just a place to share ideas we had from learning on the outside.
Schooling should not be the end of the journey but rather the start of the learning process. By creating something daily, you have a visual history of your growth.
I can look back at my first book covers and evaluate them against what I created today. I can see how far I have traveled on my path to creative mastery.
You are the master of your destiny. You decide when you are a master in your creative pursuits. If you sell your products, your audience may prefer certain pieces of your work more than others.
However, only you can judge your work. It is your journey and your life's work—no one else's. Looking back in 20 years, you will want a body of work representing your life.
Conclusion. I did two years in Japan away from my family. It sucked, and I didn't have much fun, but I learned to write and design.
I have some creative work every day I was in Japan. I can review my life through my words and see how I felt that particular day.
I took a road trip from Florida to California earlier this year and documented every day with an article. I can go back and reflect on that journey any time I wish.
That's the magic of creating content daily and compounding your skill set. Your brain yearns to be creative and free from watching Netflix or playing video games.
Your brain wants to explore the unknown world of art, music, and design. It would be best to start somewhere; you will probably be terrible at first. But you'll improve every day. Good Luck!
