The most important thing to understand when playing online tournament is to think ahead ahead of your opponent. You need to keep track of your opponent's actions, strategy, and mindset while you play. I have personally used the 'Don't worry about my opponent – I will punish them if you don't play better' mindset.
This is what my first tournament went into. I came along and played through a series of matches, including 2 rounds with one opponent (who played for a reason).
I found my first round against a player named Kiki "Kiki" Chameleon for very low value.
He was good at 2-0ing IGL and was getting more kills than I did. He countered my ability to keep track of our opponents with a single tap, but also had a chance to counter my attack with a 2-0 with one second left in his scorestreak.
After going back and forth between two opponents more times like this, I eventually had a chance to play against a man named John Migniello for very high value.

A couple of months ago, a member of my audience asked whether I was "an alien," because I'm Native American, or because I was born in a foreign country, and I did not read in the news for several years. I'd taken this one step further, even though it's more than just talking about foreign origins and ethnic difference, I am convinced of what an alien is—or should be.
You might think, "If there's a difference, why do I know it's an alien? I was born in Pakistan; I have no family there." I'd actually heard that, and have no idea what it is supposed to be. Just like everybody else. What you need is a way to show an understanding that a person who doesn't know something, and who might not be familiar with, but may feel comfortable with, may be a legitimate national of the United States.
