There is a saying that goes "practice makes perfect." Then there are those who debate that nothing in life can ever be perfect. We all have our own take on perfection. But one thing remains consistent.

Practice is required to become good at something be it a technical skill or a soft skill.

Let's take Mathematics as an example. Upon learning the theory of how to add and subtract, we then put that theory into practice by solving countless numbers of addition and subtraction equations. We continue to add and subtract in our daily life. Over time, we become good at it.

Let's take Additional Mathematics as the next example. We apply the same concept of learning the theory and then applying it into equations. However, after schooling, we cease to apply it in our daily routine and we forget it as we grow older.

Practice.

Our formal English education begins at the age of 7. Having prior exposure helps. Learning it from scratch is just as possible. In both situations, practice remains the common factor. Stop practicing and we lose it. Keep practicing and not only do we have a firm grasp of the language, we become better at it.
