The investigation has been put under strict budget allocation due to the rising cost of housing for the refugees. The government plans to invest approximately $4.25 million and the government-owned NCPU has committed a further $5 million. However, as the government has raised the cost of housing for the more than 13 million refugees, the price tag has dropped to about $2,000,000.
On Sunday, an NGO representing one refugee, Vrba, reported that the government had set aside $800,000 for the resettlement of 800,000 refugees from the North to South Sea.
