It Is of His Mercies You Are Not Consumed

O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy [endureth] for ever. Psalms 136:1- 4 KJV

In Lamentation 3:22 The prophet Jeremiah opened our eyes to see the magnificent importance of God's mercy over our lives. The Bible says it is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. The only reason why you are alive today is because of God's mercies upon your life. Without God's mercies you and I would have been consumed. Left for the enemy, none of us should be alive to see today, and he has done all he could do to make this come to pass. In Psalms 118:13(NLT) God's Words says "My enemies did their best to kill me, but the Lord rescued me." This year, devil has done his best to wipe you and your family out, it is God's mercies that have frustrated his evil plans and preserve your life till now.

Thanking God for His mercies is worth all the efforts it may cost you. Mercy is God's prerogative; it is His exclusive right to decide whom to show it to. Romans 9:15 - 16(NLT) For God said to Moses, "I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose." So it is God who decides to show mercy; we can neither choose it nor work for it. It is God's prerogative to choose who enjoys His mercy and who does not. Therefore, if in His kindness God has counted you worthy of His Mercy and that mercy has kept you through the journey of this year, it behoves you to appreciate Him for counting you worthy of His mercy.

God opened my eyes to appreciate the enormous importance of His mercy early in life. You can never rise beyond the level of God's mercy available to you. It was mercy that set David apart from Saul. The LORD enacted a covenant of sure mercy with David and his house (Isaiah 55:3). That was the force behind his greatness. Every great man or woman in this Kingdom is a product of God's mercy. You must never take His mercy for granted. Every good thing you have enjoyed this year is because of His mercy. The same road you traveled several times without scratch has claimed the lives of others; the same challenge you sailed through has consumed others. You are not any better than them, you have only received His mercy. Therefore, God deserves your gratitude.

PRAYER
Father in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your mercy that has been a strong covering over me and my family. I realize that my being alive today is not because of anything I have done but essentially because of Your mercy active and strong over my life and family. Thank You Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus.
